Position without a signal from space: small sensors and signal-separation algorithms that read Earth’s magnetic field when GPS is jammed, spoofed or unavailable.
Boundy is making sure vehicles always know where they are, even when the sky goes quiet. GPS signals can be jammed, spoofed, or simply unavailable, leaving satellites, drones and ground vehicles blind at the worst possible moment. General Orbit reads Earth’s own magnetic field instead, using small sensors and signal-separation algorithms to pinpoint a vehicle’s position without a signal from space. The University of Michigan spinout, based at Newlab at Michigan Central, won the Detroit regional of the PitchMI competition in 2025.
